When is a pharma trademark registrable? Barbara Besati meets G. Benzi masters students
Students of the G. Benzi masters degree in regulatory affairs of the University of Pavia are going to find out what makes a pharma trademark registrable on 10 June 2022, when Barbara Besati holds her yearly online lecture on the topic.
Barbara will focus initially on which requirements a sign must meet in general in order to be registrable as a trademark, and then expand on what kinds of registration are available.
Moving closer to pharmaceutical trademarks in particular, Barbara will explain the difference between a strong and a weak trademark, the criteria applied to assess novelty with regard both to the registration of pharmaceutical trademarks and to the marketing authorisation, and finally she will explain the notion of trademark lapse for lack of use.
While it is a pleasure to engage with the students of the G. Benzi masters, we also believe it is important to contribute to the training of professional figures in regulatory affairs that are in high demand both in the private companies and in public bodies working in the healthcare and industrial sectors.
