Moldova to become a European Patent validation state on 1 November
The European Patent Office (EPO) announced yesterday the signing of a “validation agreement” that will allow applicants to validate their European patents or patent applications in Moldova.
Validation of European patent applications and European patents in Moldova will be possible as of 1 November 2015.
After validation, these patents will confer the same rights and legal protection as national patents granted in Moldova.
This agreement brings to 42 the number of countries in which patent protection can be obtained with a European patent application: 38 European Patent Convention member states plus Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Morocco and, as of 1 November 2015, Moldova.
