An international seminar on Mexico’s new trademark opposition system is to take place in Mexico City on 15 June 2016, organised by the Mexican Intellectual Property Office (IMPI).

The seminar aims to inform the main players in Mexican industry and commerce about the country’s new trademark opposition system and how trademark opposition has been implemented in other jurisdictions.

Sir Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) and Antonio Campinos, Executive Director of EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) will both speak at the opening ceremony.

Many Mexican and foreign outstanding trademark experts are scheduled to speak during the day including Lorenzo Litta, partner of SIB Società Italiana Brevetti, who will focus on the advantages and challenges of the European Union’s opposition system.
